REGULAR ACTIVITIES
Open Air Shakespeare: The Comedy of Errors (Afternoon)
Throughout the day, the confusion escalates into scenes of apparent madness, wrongful beatings, a stolen gold chain, and accusations of demonic possession. The mayhem peaks when the twins (the ones in the first paragraph) seek refuge in a local priory.
The play concludes with a joyous, chaotic family reunion, as the Abbess (revealed to be the long-lost mother) resolves the confusion, reuniting the twins, the servants, and their parents. The play is celebrated for its fast-paced, slapstick humor, and its exploration of “sure uncertainty
One of William Shakespeare’s earliest plays, Comedy of Errors is also his shortest and one of his most farcical comedies.
Please note: this is an outside performance so please do bring your own rugs and cushions to sit on. If the weather is bad, then we will move the performance into the Main Hall.
