Fast forward through the sleet, gales and snow to Friday 29th June, Saturday 30th and Sunday 1st July 2018 – and the scorching, second MINETY MUSIC FESTIVAL.

A finalist in last year’s UK Festival Awards (Best New Festival) this is a ‘must see’ fest for lovers of live music, partying or those simply looking for a fun day out for the family. It’s a not-for-profit fund raiser supporting these worthwhile causes – Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Combat Stress and Naomi House & Jack’s Place Hospice for children and young adults. The event is manned by volunteers, so money raised goes straight to the charities.

The eagerly anticipated headliner acts have just been announced – and they make pretty mouth-watering reading. On the Friday night there’s Bon Giovi – the World’s Premier tribute to Bon Jovi (an essential experience for all their many fans and live music fans in general). Definitely not for the faint-hearted though.

Saturday sees the original ‘Rude Boy’ – Neville Staple Band hit the main stage to fill the top slot. Remember him from his days with The Specials and Fun Boy Three? With 2-Tone and Ska revival numbers like ‘Ghost Town’, ‘A Message to You, Rudy’ and ‘The Lunatics Have Taken over the Asylum’ springing immediately to mind. So remember to bring those ‘specially’ polished dancing shoes.

Then bringing the festival to a resounding close on the Sunday night we have Chesney Hawkes – the famous singer, songwriter and onetime Coronation Street actor, best known for his chart-topping single ‘The One and Only’, which also made it into the Top 10 across the pond in America too. There will also be a whole variety of top quality supports on each of the three days (line-ups to be announced).

So, why not make a weekend of it? You can camp or campervan for free and there’s a vast array of ‘world food’ on offer from a variety of selected vendors, there’s even a breakfast bar for those hardy over-nighters and a well-stocked on-site bar (including local beers and ciders) to keep you fully ‘re-fuelled’ throughout the proceedings.

With loads for the kids to do too, included within the ticket price is FREE slack-lining and all-action assault course, indoor caving and circus skills workshops, plus all the usual stuff like bouncy castles etc. So you can relax and enjoy the vibe while they go off and do their thing in perfect safety, without being pestered for money every 20 minutes.

Yep, we’ve put in a pre-order for a nice hot weekend! But just in case we’ll be prepared for any eventuality the weather might throw at us! The main stage will be undercover, so whatever happens, you can stay dry and groove to a fantastic array of music covering a wide spectrum of genres.
