The 12th century former Benedictine Abbey in Malmesbury, Wiltshire, was transformed from a working church to a Skate Park, welcoming hundreds of young people over the February half term. Since it began in 2009, Abbey Skate has become one of the premier youth events in the West Country. Last year more than 600 young people tested the ramps, quarter pipes, grinding rails and trick boxes. Abbey Skate is an action packed three days, with age-appropriate skate and scoot sessions for people of all abilities. A collaboration between the Malmesbury Abbey congregation and the Nailsea based Christian Skaters UK organisation.
